Ex-Twitter CEO Sues Elon Musk Over Unpaid Legal Expenses

Twitter has found itself in the midst of a legal battle with its former CEO Parag Agrawal and two other ex-executives. The trio has sued the social media giant, claiming that they haven’t been reimbursed for over $1 million in expenses related to federal investigations and other legal matters. The lawsuit, which was filed in the Delaware Court of Chancery and reported by The New York Times, accuses Twitter of breaching its obligations by refusing to advance the plaintiffs’ expenses.

Background

Parag Agrawal was appointed as the CEO of Twitter in December 2021, succeeding Jack Dorsey. However, his tenure was short-lived as he was fired by the company’s new owner, Elon Musk, in October 2022. Agrawal’s firing was part of a broader move by Musk to overhaul Twitter’s management team, which also saw the departure of Chief Legal Officer Vijaya Gadde and Chief Financial Officer Ned Segal.
